It's the little things, isn't it? In the face of the madness and the noise and the confusion, it is always the little things that sustain us most.
It is for me, anyway. And, I suspect, it is for Bud.
The evidence?
As I sat at my desk at work today, an e-mail popped up - from Bud, from school. A first.

A pretzel reward. An upbeat e-mail.

What a wonderful surprise in your day! Beautiful. :-)
Very cool. I wish my guy could email me from school.
Wow, that would keep me going all day. I get those not from Charlie himself but from his teacher---means so much.
That must have made your heart sing. What a wonderful gift to receive.
That IS wonderful!
That is just awesome.

Cheers Bud!!
When Amigo attended the state school for the blind, he had an email account there. It was our sanity -- and his, too, I suspect.
Very cool.

Mmmmm... pretzels.
We have a snow day today (ice, actually). I think we might have to make pretzels in Bud's honor.
:)
May it be the first of many emails to come!
Yeah. Pretzels.
I love that a few measly pretzels provided sustenance for both Bud and YOU.

Good news, good news. Glad to read both these posts at once. May the pretzels always follow the rain, so to speak.
XOXO to you both.
Awesome! TC's teacher e-mailed me the other day and told me he came into her class and wrote his name spontaneously! This has never happened!!
What a beautiful piece of sunshine to your day!
yay! yay for pretzel breaks.
those little things are often the huge things, yes?
Yah for Bud! And snaps to his teacher for thinking outside the box and seeking a solution to his sadness over missing mom. Hope more creative thinking and little moments are coming your way!
So happy to read this. Sustenance, pure and simple, and the best kind. K.
what a beautiful little surprise!
:-)
What a precious gift. Good job Bud!

Thats cool! A speaker I once saw as part of a conference when I worked in a special ed school said something I'll remember forever: For kids with special needs, school can be so hard, they should be able to know that two or three wonderful things will happen at school each day, no matter what... and even a pretzel is a wonderful thing to a kid!
