Here be Boohbahs

From time to time when you enter the front door of our house, you'll be greeted by this sight:

Upon closer inspection, you'll discover that what you're seeing is this:

the Boohbahs, hanging upside down, always in the same location, always in the same order. I've just assumed that this is the next in the series of Bud's 3D works of art or, perhaps, an odd little preference of the Boohbahs' to which only Bud is privy.

This evening, when we once again found the Boohbahs hanging out on the stairs, my husband told me that this particular display strikes him as just a bit foreboding, as it is vaguely reminiscent of the villagers of old who put the decapitated heads of pirates on stakes at the entrances of harbors as a warning to any who might be considering a life of crime.

So, hear ye now and listen well: if you've been thinking about dropping by our house, consider yourself warned - and enter at your own risk.

Megan likes the Boobahs.

Their furry raised collars and staring eyes strike terror in my heart. I'm convinced that they're evil.

I've been thinking...You should write a book. I'm sure you have heard this before, but with each post, you bring a wonderful light into what it's like to be a mom with a beautiful child who just happens to be on the spectrum. What do you think?

Charlie used to have a thing for hovering right at the top of the stairs on the landing----it was his little spot!

Hmmm... it IS a little unsettling. Perhaps they're there as some sort of totem or something: watchers of the front door, keeping evil dooers at bay??

Heck, I like it.

I'd love to hear what Bud is thinking when he does that.

We've only got one Boohbah, but it seems appropriate to me.

Of COURSE they're always in the same order. :) Once you have a good thing set up, why modify it?

We don't get to watch Boohbahs - the PBS station has extra cable channels that we don't get because we're on another company's system from the one in the city, and Boohbahs are on a channel we just can't have. :(

Teletubbies, however, are reasonably popular, especially with the not-yet-three little girl in the house. (Laa Laa is her favorite.)

My son Mark enjoyed your Boohbah picture, he pointed to each one and said their name. It took him many years to do the pointing thing, I know it's a great milestone.
